FAQ

Common questions

Why can’t Float Camera access my camera?

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and enable Float Camera. Quit and reopen the app. If the camera remains unavailable, close other camera apps and try again.

How do I change camera devices?

Open the Float Camera menu bar menu, choose Camera Device, then select an available built-in camera, USB camera, capture card, or virtual camera. The last available device is remembered.

How do I change the camera shape or aspect ratio?

Choose Shape for rectangle, rounded rectangle, or circle. Aspect Ratio is available for rectangle and rounded rectangle; a circle always uses 1:1.

How do I resize or move the camera window?

Use the Size slider in the menu bar menu, then drag the camera window to the position you want. Turn on Lock Position after arranging it if needed.

How do I restore Float Camera Pro?

Open Unlock Full Version from the menu bar and choose Restore Purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.

Does Float Camera record video or audio?

No. Float Camera only displays the live camera image. It does not record, save, or upload video, and it does not use the microphone.

How do I release the camera for another app?

Turn off Show Camera from the Float Camera menu. The floating window closes and the selected camera device is released.
